What Color is Your Sky
What Color is Your Sky was inspired by the Persian proverb: به هر کجا که روی آسمان همین رنگ است “Wherever you go, the sky is the same color”.
During the uncertainty of the COVID-19 lockdown, I asked friends and family from around the world to send me a photograph of the sky above them. From Iran to Greenland, Brazil to Australia, these images arrived as quiet gestures of connection, shared during a time when distance defined our lives.
The skies became more than fragments of weather or light. They held something deeply human—a record of care and generosity, of lives lived apart yet briefly intertwined.
The final work, a collage of skies printed on aluminum, was exhibited in the Pop of Color exhibition at the Southwest Florida International Airport. For me, it became a meditation on connection and the beauty found in reaching out and being met with such grace.
