What Colour is Your Sky
What Colour is Your Sky is an ongoing project I began in 2019. I have been collecting photos of the sky from my friends and family around the world (Iran, US, South Africa, Australia, France, Brazil, Greenland, etc.) and making digital collages. In 2020, during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and worldwide lockdown, I asked people to take photos of the sky while they were in quarantine. Despite the fact that “Wherever you go the sky is the same color,” a Persian proverb, this piece was made to bring a global sense of unity and perhaps comfort knowing that we were all in it together. A collage made of 141 slices of the sky printed on an aluminum panel, 48x48”, was displayed at SouthWest Florida International Airport part of Lee County Port Authority’s exhibition Pop of Color . Also, in 2020, this project was part of Art Lives Here billboard project through the Alliance of the Arts in Lee County, FL, which was displayed on billboards in different locations throughout a year.
I invite those who are interested in participating in this project to send their photos of the sky to WhatColourIsYourSky@gmail.com
